Agent Maine, otherwise known as The Meta, is an antagonist from Red vs. Blue.
Agent Maine was originally part of Project Freelancers, an attempt at creating super-soldiers for hire by partnering them with artificial intelligences, before a combination of mistreatements from the project leads, injuries that damaged his vocal chords beyond repair, and the influence of the AI that had been partnered to him, Sigma, caused him to go rogue, murdering his fellow Freelancers as he started to seek the other AIs belonging to tem before the Artificial Intelligence known as Sigma caused him to go rogue and turn into a psychopath, seeking the other Artificial Intelligences of Project Freelancers.
Maine was believed dead when he was blown up by an EMP, attached to a Warthog and dragged into the frigid ocean, but re-emerged to haunt the Red and Blue teams once again. After being driven off, Maine disappeared, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
