World Tag Team Championship

The FWE World Tag Team Championship (1994 - Present)

The FWE World Tag Team Championship, more commonly called the World Tag Team Championship, is a tag team championship belt, currently defended in Fiction Wrestling Entertainment. The belts are the tag team titles of the Blitzkrieg roster. It used to be the only tag team title of the company until 2001, when due to the brand split, the FWE Tag Team Championship was created.

History

The belts were originally created in 1984, one year after FWE was established, as the top prize of the company's tag team division. The first-ever champions were the Friends of Mine, who defeated Bud Spencer and Terence Hill, the company's other most dominant team, before defending the belts under Freebird Rules.

The belts were revamped in late 1994, as part of FWE's move to the United States, and have remained the same ever since. They became an exclusive of the Cyclone roster in 2001 when the Brand Split took place, and have remained such ever since. The belts were held by some of Europe's, and later the world's best tag teams, and as a result are amongst the tag team titles with the most important lineage and prestige.

Current Champion

The current champions are Smosh (Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox), who won the vacated belts by defeating Gas Monkey Garage.
