Stan Smith is the main character of the adult animated cartoon American Dad. He is a CIA agent and the patriarch of the Smith family. Created as a parody of ultra-conservative right-wing politics, Stan is a bumbling idiot prone to using the same extreme measures suited to his work when dealing with personal or family problems, often resulting in strange situations and much mayhem. Despite this, he does truly love his family.
