Much like his canon persona, Shadow is a brooding, serious individual. He is a loner, preferring to act alone, and is can also be incredibly ruthless when focused on a goal. However, he is not emotionless, and can display sentimental emotions from time to time, most notably in his persistent memory of Maria Robotnik.
During his time in D-Hedgeration X alongside Hope the Hedgehog, a new side of Shadow was seen. During that time, Shadow displayed a more silly, degenerate side, constantly making jokes and pulling pranks, often to upset opponents. However, he could still turn serious when the occasion called for it.
